Acoustic Vimala to Play the Street Fair

Acoustic Vimala will be making an appearance at the upcoming Fourth Avenue Spring Street Fair in Tucson, AZ. The gig is from 2 - 3pm on Friday, March 20 at the Main Stage on E. 7th Street and N. Hoff Avenue. I've got the support of Geo Melville on guitar once again, and Bruce Silvey on percussion. We will be doing all original music! Make sure you stop by and say 'hey' if you're at the fair that afternoon!!!

Tucson's Peace Fair...

Hello!

By serendipity, Acoustic Vimala is now scheduled to play the 27th Annual Peace Fair and Music Festival this coming Saturday [Feb. 28]. The time slot is from 11:45am - 12:30pm. It is early in the festivities but maybe some of you can make it! The Fair is at Reid Park at the corner of 22nd and Country Club and goes from 11am - 5pm.

I am privileged to have the quality support of Geo Melville on guitar and Bruce Silvey on percussion for this gig and I thank them both in advance for stepping in on such short notice and helping me out. We hope you can get to this great peace-happening, spend an hour or the whole day, and maybe together we can give peace its well-deserved chance!

This was an amazing day and I want to thank Geo and Bruce for supporting me with their wonderful music, and thank-you to everyone who showed up and cheered us on!!! This was a most amazing and fulfilling day, to be on this particular stage for this particular event. And a week ago, I wasn't even on the schedule! Serendipity!!! I told my friend Myra, that I can die happy now as this is what I came here to do... sing joyful songs of Peace on Earth for people who share the vision. I am a much blessed lady!!!

The Returning Song...

Many thanks to everyone who showed up at the Casbah last night! It was a great gig with Geo, Glen, Mark and even Rocky sitting in for most of the evening. We hope to do it again soon.

Just wanted to let you know that there is a new song posted over at my MySpace place. It is a very rough demo of a song I call The Returning Song. Many thanks to Alex Lesser for helping me get it into the computer. It was one of those 'wake-up-at-5am-with-song-coming-in-and-I've-got-to-get-up-and-work-on-it-NOW!' types of songs. By 10am it was finished.

The story on the commissioning of this song is here: Returning: The Song ...I did not plan to write a song, but as you can see, it sort of came on its own early in the morning soon after this shoud. It was a fun process and I loved the double meanings of many of the lyrics. It also felt like a song a young boy like Sam would like. If this is all "greek" to you don't worry. It all comes from one of the worlds I hang out in. Just listen, get what's in it for you, and ENJOY!

Acoustic Vimala @ the Casbah Feb. 12

I hope you can join me with my friends Geo and Glen for what will probably be my last performance at the Casbah Tea House on Tucson's 4th Avenue. The 4th Avenue establishment will be closing at the end of February. The gig is Thursday evening, February 12, 2009. We will be sharing our musical souls with you starting at 7 and playing til 10. This is Gem Show week so there should be an extra festive air to the town. We will do our part to add to the fun. So come give yourselves a much-deserved break and help me honor the place that got me my 'start' here in Tucson.

Thank-you Carol Ann for letting me be a part of the Casbah experience. Blessings to you on the ongoing journey!
